Organization awards FRCN Zonal Director in Nasarawa

A Lafia-based organization in Nasarawa State, Social Media Influencers has bestowed an award of excellence on the North Central Zonal Director of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria FRCN Mallam Haruna Idris.

Presenting the award at the zonal office in Lafia, state Chairman of Social Media Influencers, comrade Aliyu Ibrahim Orah explained that the gesture was in recognition of the steady infrastructural development and quality Radio broadcast the awardee had recorded since assuming office as the North Central Zonal Director FRCN.

Social Media Influencers Nasarawa State is made up of a group of youths including news bloggers with the common goal of utilising the facilities on the internet especially social media to promote good governance.

The State Chairman of the group Comrade Aliyu Ibrahim stated that the social media influencers had been engaged in critical assessment of the performances of public officers in the state and had reached a conclusion that the Zonal Director had distinguished himself in the areas of innovation meant to ensure an inclusive radio broadcast.

He maintained that since the arrival of the Zonal Director to Lafia over four years ago, Nasarawa state had continued to record a positive outlook due to the neutrality and people-centered news reportage and programming of the FM stations within the zone.

The Deputy Director ICT Mr. Danjuma Akuki and the General Manager Prime FM Lokoja Mr. Jimoh Momoh described the award on the Zonal Director as well deserved given his humane disposition in leadership.

The Zonal Director North Central of FRCN, Mallam Haruna Idris remarked that the award was a stepping stone for him to put in his best to humanity.

Mallam Haruna Idris however, called on Social Media Influencers to see themselves as partners in nation-building and shun the temptation of using the platform for vices that are counterproductive, especially social media bullying and fake news.

The award ceremony witnessed all the General Managers of the five FM stations that make up the north-central zone of FRCN including the heads of units and departments
