President Tinubu Appoints New Heads for NEMSA, SHESTCO

President Bola Tinubu has approved a fresh round of strategic appointments into key science, technology and power-sector institutions, naming new leadership for the Sheda Science and Technology Complex (SHESTCO) and the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA).

A statement issued on Tuesday by the Presidential Spokesperson, Mr Bayo Onanuga, named Honourable Magaji Aliyu, the Managing Director of the Sheda Science and Technology Complex, Abuja.

SHESTCO is Nigeria’s foremost science and technology hub, mandated to drive research and development in advanced technologies and to operate the nation’s nuclear research facility in support of innovation, industrial growth and national development.

In the power sector, the President appointed Adesayo Michael as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA).

The President also constituted the Board of the agency to strengthen technical regulation, safety oversight and service delivery across Nigeria’s electricity value chain.

The newly appointed NEMSA Board members are: Aliyu Abdulazeez (Executive Director, Technical); Ikechi Nwosu (Chairman, South East); Zubair Idris (Member); Igba Elizabeth (Member, North Central); Sani Shehu (Member, North East); Adeyemi Adetunji (Member, South West); Emmanuel Nkpe (Member, South South); and Charles Asogwa (Member, South East).

In a related development, President Tinubu nominated Amina Gamawa (Bauchi State) and Abdullahi Muktar (Kaduna State) as Commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

The nominations have been transmitted to the Senate for confirmation.
