President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the winners of Saturday’s elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as well as in Kano and Rivers States.
In a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, the President noted that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) successfully conducted elections in the six Area Councils of the FCT, as well as by-elections in the Ahoada East II and Khana II State Constituencies of Rivers State, and the Kano Municipal and Ungogo constituencies in Kano State.
President Tinubu urged the winners to serve with humility, patriotism and dedication, reminding them that the mandate freely given by the people represents a sacred trust that must be honoured through selfless service and accountable leadership.
He commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for his remarkable achievements in the territory, noting that his performance has translated into tangible political dividends for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The President also congratulated the national leadership of the APC, as well as the party’s leadership and members in Kano and Rivers states, on the victories recorded at the polls.
He lauded INEC, security agencies and voters for the peaceful and successful conduct of the elections, describing the exercise as a positive reflection of Nigeria’s growing democratic maturity.
The Nigerian Leader commended all contestants for the courage, restraint and discipline displayed throughout the electoral process, noting that democracy is enriched by active participation and healthy competition.
The President affirmed that the credible and peaceful conduct of the elections strengthen Nigeria’s democratic culture and institutions.
He called on INEC to continue improving its processes in order to deliver more exemplary elections in the future.
