President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will lead a high-level delegation to Daura, Katsina State, to receive the remains of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The body of the former leader is expected to arrive at Katsina Airport by noon, ahead of the burial ceremony scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in his hometown of Daura.
The delegation, which underscores the federal government’s respect and honour for Buhari’s legacy, is overseeing the transfer of the remains and fully participating in the burial rites.
President Tinubu on Monday, 14th July, approved the constitution of an inter-ministerial committee for the state funeral of former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.

To further honour former leader Buhari, the presidency declared Tuesday, July 15, a public holiday in honour of the departed Nigerian ex-president.
It is worth recalling that President Tinubu had summoned a special FEC session to honour his predecessor for his invaluable contributions to Nigeria.
Vice President Kashim Shettima and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, as well as family members of the deceased leader, will now be accompanying former President Muhammadu Buhari’s body home from London.
