Members of the House of Representatives have expressed heartfelt condolences to the people and government of Kano State following the passing of renowned philanthropist and business magnate, Alhaji Aminu Dantata.
The condolence message was conveyed during a visit to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf at the Government House, Kano.
A press statement by the Chief press Secretary to the Governor Mustapha Muhammad said, the delegation was led by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas.
Speaking during the visit, Speaker Abbas described the late Dantata as a highly respected figure whose impact was felt across Nigeria.
“Alhaji Aminu Dantata was an exemplary personality who showed immense goodwill to the House and the entire nation. We hold him in the highest regard,” he said.
The Speaker added that the House deemed it necessary to personally visit the state and sympathize with the governor and people of Kano.

He offered prayers for the repose of the late Dantata’s soul and asked Almighty God to grant his family, the people of Kano State, and all Nigerians the strength to bear the loss.
In his response, Governor Abba Yusuf expressed gratitude to the lawmakers for their solidarity and for taking the time to visit despite their demanding responsibilities.
He also commended the National Assembly and the Federal Government for the delegation sent to Medina, Saudi Arabia, to attend the funeral rites of the late Dantata.
Earlier, the delegation also paid a condolence visit to the family residence of the late elder statesman in Kano.
