His last game was a 2-2 draw on Friday against Everton that left Tottenham in seventh place in the Premier League and unlikely to reach the top four.
Mourinho took charge in November 2019, replacing Mauricio Pochettino. In his first campaign, Mourinho took Tottenham from 14th in the Premier League to sixth, securing Europa League qualification for 2020/21. however, RB Leipzig knocked Spurs out of the 2019 Champions League at the round-of-16 stage.
This season, the club was dumped out of the Europa League by Dinamo Zagreb in the last-16.
The London club is also among 12 that shocked the football world on Monday by announcing the formation of a breakaway European Super League.
Tottenham play Southampton on Wednesday with the club five points off the Champions League places.
