Voice of Nigeria (VON) and the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) are joining forces to promote the growth of the country’s automotive sector.

During a courtesy visit to NADDC’s Director General, Olawemimo Osanipin, VON’s Director General, Mr. Jibril Ndace, led a delegation and emphasized the purpose of the visit: to collaborate with the council in enhancing global visibility for NADDC’s activities.

Mr. Ndace noted that the NADDC’s activities align with global best practices and deserve to be showcased to the world.

According to him, “I’d like to on behalf of the management and staff of Voice of Nigeria offer Voice of Nigeria platform to you to be able to tell your own story of what you are doing on behalf of Nigeria.”

“We are working to return our shortwave transmitter that will enable Voice of Nigeria to speak to over 10 million people, Africans and people around the world. Some of the facilities we have here are the best and only in Africa and with the support of the President, Commander-in-Chief by the grace of God, that will be back.”

“When you speak to us in English, you are speaking indirectly in eight languages, you speak to us in Hausa, and you have several others to also speak to because, on a daily basis, we create and push content in eight languages.” Mr Ndace explained.

The Director General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council, Mr Olawemimo Osanipin while responding, assured VON of the council’s collaboration noting that it is important that Nigeria tells its own story to the world.

“There’s nothing as good as when you tell your own story, it’s dangerous when you allow someone to tell your story for you, or you and with Voice of Nigeria, with your reach, especially with all these languages that you can reach, it means you are positioned to tell the story of Nigeria, so it is the story of Nigeria by Nigerians for the world.” the NADDC Boss said.

While speaking on some of the recent achievements of the council which includes the focus on local component developments, he urged Nigerians to trust in items manufactured in the country.

The problem with a lot of Nigerians, maybe because of price, maybe because of lack of information don’t have that faith or belief in it, but in truth, the price may be higher. What majority of Nigerians don’t know is that those come with better quality.” Mr Osanipin said.

“And I will explain that the China break part is programmed to do between 3,000 to 4,000 kilometers, and the one in Nigeria is programmed to do between 10,000 to 15,000. So they are different.”

He added that through the consumer credit scheme by Nigeria Consumer Credit Corporation the Council has been able to pay 20 billion Naira to support acquisition of Nigeria-made vehicles through credit.
