Tribunal Ruling: Sokoto State Lawmaker Reaffirms Commitment to Constituents’ Wellbeing
Following his victory at the Election Petition Tribunal held in Sokoto, the lawmaker representing Kware and Wamakko Federal Constituency, Rep. Ahmad Kalambaina (All Progressives Congress- Sokoto), has reaffirmed his commitment to delivering greater benefits of democracy to his constituents.
He gave the assurance on Monday, noting that the tribunal ruling marked a significant triumph for democracy and the people of his constituency.
The three-member tribunal panel, led by Justice Denis Echesi, affirmed Kalambaina as the duly elected representative for the constituency, dismissing the petition of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), which had challenged the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate.
The tribunal ruled that the petitioner failed to substantiate its case beyond a reasonable doubt and consequently imposed a penalty of five hundred thousand naira (N500,000) on them.
The lawmaker pledged to continue delivering dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of his constituents to drive substantial development in the constituency while appealing for increased support.
“Today’s judgement will further fuel my commitment to delivering the best legislation for the people of my constituency.
“I will persist in my efforts to empower the youths and women, a programme I have been championing for years,” he affirmed.
Kalambaina expressed his gratitude to Senator Aliyu Wamakko, the APC leader in the state, for his guidance and paternal advice, which, he said, have propelled him to greater heights.
He also commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s dedication to Sokoto State’s brighter future and thanked his constituents for their unwavering support and prayers for his success.
