AAC Presidential Primary: Yakubu Mohammed emerges winner

A seasoned civil and Mechanical Engineer, Yakubu Mohammed emerged as the Presidential flag bearer of African Action Congress (AAC) in Nigeria’s forthcoming 2023 General elections.

Mohammed won with 121 votes against his opponent, Dr. Caro Nwosu, who scored 38 votes at a primary election held in Abuja on Thursday evening.

The entire vote cast in the contest was 166 out of 205 accredited, with 7 invalid votes.

Chairman of the AAC Presidential primary election committee, Mr. Francis Abayomi, announced Engr. Mohammed, winner and the flag bearer of the party.

Presenting the party’s flag and certificate of return, the National Chairman of African Action Congress, Dr. Leonard Ezenwa, congratulated the winner and saluted the courage of the opponent Dr. Caro Nwosu and delegates from across the country.

He said, “the mission of the party is to put Nigerian people first and it is about what is best for Nigerians.”

Me. Ezenwa noted that the Aspirant is a versatile individual, prudent, disciplined, and determined for the growth of Nigeria.

He urged Nigerians to vote for AAC’s candidate in the 2023 elections for transformation, economic prosperity, integrity, and national cohesion.

Mr. Ezenwa urged Nigerians to beware of money-bag politicians who use their money to get positions.

He said, “some political parties have bought presidential tickets with money but AAC will not use money to buy their tickets.”

In his acceptance speech, the AAC Candidate Engr. Yaqub Kingsley Mohammed said he would declare a state of emergency on security.

He said he would deploy technology to tackle Nigeria’s current security situation.

He noted that, if elected president come 2023, he will ensure national action for development in various sectors of Nigeria’s economy.

Engr. Mohammed promised to take over Labour and Employment Ministry and ensure adequate provisions of jobs for teeming Nigerian youths.

He also promised to revamp education, build and expand the private sector, and implement all oil and gas policies for economic growth.

His opponent, Dr. Nwosu, congratulated him and promised to work with him for the party’s victory.

The African Action Congress AAC Presidential candidate hails from Edo state, South-South Nigeria, and worked in various capacities.
