AANI Extols Professionalism, Exceptional Leadership Of Late General Lagbaja

The Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) has extoled the level of professionalism, dedication, and exceptional leadership provided to the Nigerian Army by the late Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja as tributes and condolences continue to trail his demise.
The President of the AANI, Ambassador Emmanuel Okafor, emphasised these qualities during a condolence visit to the Nigerian Army Headquarters in Abuja, where he led members of the association to honour the late Chief of Army Staff.
This is contained in a statement by the National Publicity Secretary, AANI, retired Brigadier General Kukasheka Usman.
The visit by the delegation was to commiserate with officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army over the recent passing of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja and they were received by the Acting Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede.
Ambassador Okafor expressed deep sorrow over the loss of Lieutenant General Lagbaja, noting his remarkable service to the nation and the Nigerian Army. He offered heartfelt prayers for the peaceful repose of his soul and signed the condolence register in honour of the late General’s legacy.
The AANI President also conveyed the association’s deepest condolences to the Commander-in-Chief, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, the Chief of Army Staff and the bereaved family of Lt. Gen. Lagbaja.

Ambassador Okafor also commended President Tinubu on the appointment of the Acting Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Oluyede, who is an AANI member, a seasoned senior Army officer and leader widely known for his courage, humility, professionalism, and exemplary leadership skills.
The delegation also pledged AANI’s continued support to the Nigerian Army and the country’s security forces in their efforts to maintain peace, and stability and ensure the safety of the nation. He assured the Acting Chief of Army Staff of the association’s readiness to assist in any way possible as the Nigerian Army continues its important work in securing the country.
Repsonding, the Acting Chief of Army Staff appreciated AANI for coming to commiserate with the Nigerian Army on the painful passing of Lieutenant General TA Lagbaja. He further eulogised the professionalism, exemplary leadership and commitment of the deceased Chief of Army Staff and promised the delegation that he would continue in his legacies.
He equally promised that the Nigerian Army, under his leadership, would continue to live up to its constitutional responsibilities.
