Adamawa state Governor mourns first female commissioner

The Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has expressed sadness over the death of the first female Commissioner in the then Gongola State, Mama Fibi Nadah who passed away on Sunday.

 

He said mama Nadah was a towering icon of selfless service who occupied a special place in the hearts of Adamawa state people as a Woman of many first.

 

“On behalf of the government and people of Adamawa State, I want to express my sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and political associates of late Mama Fibi Nadah. The death of Mama Nadah who held the traditional title of Bwarato Bachama is a big loss to Adamawa State. She made a lot of positive impact and contributions during her lifetime to the growth and development of Adamawa State. She also made significant impact in Adamawa politics, especially in the Numan federation,” Governor Fintiri said.

 

Recently, Governor Fintiri honored late Mama Nadah with an invitation to commission a road project in the State capital, Yola, which was her last public outing.

“I have always had a fondness for the magnificent and graceful contributions of Mama Nadah as first Woman Principal, first Woman Commissioner among many other first,” Fintiri added.

 

He noted her contribution to the founding of the State Television ATV when she served as Commissioner of Information, describing it as a great achievement.

 

While offering his condolences to the entire Bwatiye Community and particularly to Hama Bachama, Dr Daniel Ismaila Shagah, the Governor noted that Adamawa will forever hold Mama Nadah in a special place.

 

Mama Nadah was an accomplished teacher who contributed to the growth of education in Adamawa state and impacted in the education sector as she had taught many prominent personalities.

 

While wishing the family good health and strength during these hard time of loss, the Governor said she will be missed by many especially girls and women whose lives she changed.
