Deputy Senate President Mourns Elder Statesman, Aminu Dantata

Nigeria’s Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, has mourned the passing of elder statesman and renowned business magnate, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, who died on Saturday at the age of 94.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau described the late Dantata as a visionary entrepreneur, a devout Muslim, and a philanthropist whose life was dedicated to the service of humanity.

“I join millions in mourning the loss of our father, Alhaji Aminu Dantata. He was an icon whose contributions to the growth of Kano, Northern Nigeria, and the country at large are immeasurable,” Senator Barau stated.

He praised Dantata’s outstanding legacy in business, noting his pioneering efforts across sectors such as commerce, construction, real estate, banking, manufacturing, and oil and gas.

“Beyond business, he was a beacon of generosity and integrity. His philanthropic works touched countless lives and continue to serve as a model of selfless service,” he added.

Senator Barau extended his heartfelt condolences to the Dantata family, the Kano business community, and the people of the state.

“May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds, and grant him Aljannatul Firdausi. May He also give the family and all of us the strength to bear this loss.” Barau prayed.
