Nigeria’s renowned Business mogul, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, has passed away.
Dantata, a prominent figure in Nigeria’s business landscape and one of the North’s most respected elder statesmen, died at the age of 94 after a prolonged illness.
His death was announced by Deputy National Treasurer of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Uba Tanko Mijinyawa, through a message shared on social media.
Born on May 19, 1931, Alhaji Dantata was a towering force in Nigeria’s private sector, with significant investments spanning real estate, petroleum, and finance.
He was equally admired for his philanthropic efforts, particularly in the areas of education and youth empowerment across northern Nigeria.
A former official in the Kano State Government, Dantata also made his mark nationally as a member of the Constitution Drafting Committee responsible for formulating Nigeria’s 1979 Constitution.
Since the news of his passing, tributes have continued to pour in from leaders, entrepreneurs, and citizens who remember him as a visionary industrialist, nation builder, and mentor to generations.
