Lady Princess Victoria Dada Kemiloye Adeyemi, the mother of former Senator who represented Kogi West, Smart Adeyemi, has died at the age of 88.
The passing of the Matriarch was announced by the family in a statement released and signed by Olorunmotito Joseph, describing her as a devoted Christian, a loving mother, and a grandmother who touched many lives.
Born in Iyara, Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Lady Adeyemi hailed from the royal Ibilola family of Ilupa, and was married to Pa Solomon Adeyemi of the Araromi royal family, also in Iyara.
She spent over 45 years in Minna, Niger State, where she raised her six children, before relocating to Abuja, where she died on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
“She dedicated her life to the service of God and left an indelible mark on those who knew her,” the family said.
The National President of Iyara Development Association, Dr. Aliyu Badaki, in a statement , stated that the Iyara community has lost a matriarch, entrepreneur and virtuous mother.
Badaki stated, “This is to announce the glorious exit of our dear, lovely grandma, mama, Mrs Victoria Oyeyemi Adeyemi (nee Ibilola). She will always be remembered for her love and passion towards the development of Iyara.”
She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and a brother.
Details of her burial arrangements according to his statement, will be announced later.
