A new Nollywood romantic drama, A Spark in the Dark, is scheduled for release in cinemas worldwide on April 24, its producers have announced.
Ace filmmaker and producer Dolly Nwaduba disclosed the release date in a post shared on her verified Instagram page, where she teased the film’s emotional depth and central conflict.
“What would you do if everything you built your love, your plans, your future disappeared overnight?” the post read. “Would you fight for it or would you learn to want something different? A Spark in the Dark in cinemas – 24.04.26.”
The film tells the story of Kate, a woman whose seemingly perfect life begins to unravel following a devastating tragedy shortly after her engagement. Once fulfilled by a loving relationship, a promising career, and close friendships, she is forced to confront loss and redefine her sense of purpose.
Directed by Akay Mason, the movie features a star-studded cast including Venita Akpofure, Daniel Etim Effiong, Eso Dike, Blossom Chukwujekwu, and Gideon Okeke.
Other cast members include Somto Eze, Tope Olowoniyan, Sandra Iroegbu and Emeka Okoye.
A Spark in the Dark explores themes of love, friendship, loss, and resilience, offering a compelling narrative that reflects relatable social experiences.
