Islamic clerics and the people of Kwara State, North Central Nigeria have held special prayers for the success of the administrations of President Ahmed Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
The Islamic clerics who anchored the special prayer organised for a newly appointed Non-Executive Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), Dr Mohammed Ghali Alaaya, a citizen of Kwara State, prayed to God to grant Tinubu a successful tenure.
They also requested Allah to grant Governor AbdulRazaq greater achievements in his second term of office.
The clerics thanked Tinubu and AbdulRazaq for finding Ghali worthy of the appointment to NNPCL’s board.
The well-attended prayer session was at the instance of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ubandawaki ward, Ilorin West local government area of Kwara State
Members of the Arewa Consultatives Forum (ACF), Kwara State’s chapter which Alaaya chairs and Gamji Members Association (GAMA) which the appointee belongs, collaborated with the people of Ubandawaki ward in organising the prayer.
In a brief lecture, the Chief Imam of Oloje, Ilorin, Sheikh AbdulMumini Ibrahim, enjoined Dr Ghali to justify the confidence reposed in him by the governor and President Tinubu who were instrumental in his appointment.
The prayer session was led by Sheikh Mubarak Alaiye who was supported by other prominent clerics; Ustaz Abdullahi Olooto, Ustaz AbdulBaki Odegbangba, Ustaz Sakariyah Olesin and Alfa Muhammad Ajijola Anabi, amongst others.
