Nasarawa state Governor mourns aide, Lamus

Nasarawa state Governor, Abdullahi Sule has expressed deep shock, pain, and sadness over the demise of his Special Adviser on Special Duties, Murtala Lamus who died on Tuesday 25th October 2022.

 

In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor, Mr. Ibrahim Addra, he described the late Lamus as a long-time friend, and ally of Governor Abdullahi Sule who was a quiet but consummate politician, grassroots mobilizer, and patriot whose love for Nasarawa state and humanity is not in question.

 

He said that Gov. Sule described the sudden death of his Special Adviser as a rude shock.

 

Governor Sule who joined in the funeral prayers on the corpse of his late friend was also at the graveyard during the final interment.

He has since visited the family of the deceased to condole them, urging that they take consolation in the fact that he lived a worthy life as exemplified by testimonies and the large turnout of mourners in the Wamba local government council of the state, his country home.

 

Governor Sule prays that Allah grants the soul of the late Murtala Lamus eternal rest and gives his family, friends, and associates the courage to bear the loss.

 

In a related development, the senator representing Nasarawa South Senatorial Zone, Senator Tanko Al-Makura also expressed grief over the death of an All Progressive Congress (APC)’s chieftain, Murtala Lamus.

A statement by Almakura’s Press Secretary, Mr. Danjuma Joseph described the Late Lamus as a friend, brother, and associate, whose positive advice and political contributions would be greatly missed.

He said that last Saturday, he was in the convoy with Senator Al-Makura, when they went to Obi town, to commission Governor AA Sule’s campaign office and APC’s command center.

Al-Makura Condoles his immediate family, Wamba chiefdom, saying they have lost an astute politician whose input to the actualization of the APC agenda in the state would be dearly missed.

“I do not doubt that not just his family or Wamba community and APC, but also the state will dearly miss this seasoned politician and fine gentleman whose contributions to the development of the state have been invaluable”

Also, the Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Balarabe Abdullahi, eulogized the good virtues of the deceased as a man of great honor and integrity and said that he has contributed greatly to the development of the State and the present government.

 

He described his demise as very shocking, colossal, and painful saying it is one death too many to bear.

Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi condoled with Gov. Abdullahi Sule and the people of the state over the great loss while praying to God to forgive his shortcomings and grant him paradise as his final home.

 

Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi added that the demise of Hon Murtala Alhassan Lamus will create a huge gap and vacuum that will be hard to fill, adding that the state and the government will greatly miss his contributions.
