New Postmaster General Assumes Office, promises to leverage Techonlogy

The new Postmaster General of the Federation of Nigeria Postal Services,(NIPOST), Miss Tola Odeyemi has pledged to build on the legacy of her predecessors by leveraging technology to make logistics, e-Commerce, and other postal services reliable, efficient, and effective.

She also promised to consolidate on what she met on ground and promise to even do better with the cooperation of staff to advance the agency to its rightful position both locally and globally.

This comes as she assumed duty at the NIPOST Corporate Headquarters on Monday, October 16, 2023.

In a statement issued by NIPOST, it said Tola Odeyemi is an experienced, seasoned professional engineer with over 15 years wealth of knowledge spanning from both public and private sector in Tech policy and Government Regulatory roles, working at senior state and federal government levels.

Her appointment is to lead NIPOST into a new era of innovation, modernization, and transformation, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, bringing into the position decades of experience in the field of strategy development and implementation.

The Postmaster General of the Federation, Miss Tola Odeyemi said “the essence of every administration lies in the ability to ensure continuity, while staying focus to its core values and mandate, why striving to maximize its potentials, and adopting to change and involving commitment.’’

According to Odeyemi, “NIPOST has a legacy that was forged by hard work, vision of those before me, and posterity will be indeed kind to them.

“As I assume this role, I came to build on the commendable work of my predecessors, my aspirations are not only to solidify NIPOST status as one of the leading Postal Operators in the world, but to critically commence to build trade and make NIPOST the e-commerce and logistics hub in the world by providing postal services that meet the needs of Nigerians, irrespective of the location,” She stated.

The Postmaster General expressed her profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), for entrusting her with the duty of Postmaster General of the Federation, a national assignment that she holds dear to her heart’’.

According to the statement , “As the first female to hold this position since NIPOST existence, her appointment is a testament to the strides our Nation is making to close the gender and age gap in governance in Nigeria”.
