NYSC tasks Corps Members on Promotion of National Unity

The National Youth Service Corps NYSC in Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria has charged the newly sworn-in corps members to promote national integration and unit during and after their service year.

 

This was contained in the address by the NYSC Director General, Professor Shaibu Ibrahim, during the swearing- in ceremony of 2022 Batch ‘A’ stream ‘1’ corps members at NYSC permanent Orientation Camp, Old MacGregor College, Affikpo North Local Government Area of the State.

 

“As you are aware, one of the objectives of NYSC is the promotion of National Unity and Integration. This informs your deployment away from your States of origin and your assemblage here from diverse ethics, religious and socio-economic background,” Ibrahim stated.

 

He implored them to sustain the high  level of discipline they have demonstrated so far.

He thanked the House of Representatives for the progress made so far in legislative process on the bill for establishment of NYSC Trust Fund.

 

Ibrahim called on well- to- do individuals and corporate bodies to take a cue  from Wife of Nigerian President, Mrs Aisha Buhari, by donating well equipped ambulances for the operation of NYSC Mobile Clinic as well as other essential equipment and drugs that can facilitate the conduct of NYSC Medical outreach.

 

The NYSC Director General was represented at the occasion by the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs Mercy Bamai Dawuda.

A total of 1,215 corps members were sworn-in during the ceremony.
