The Sokoto State governor and a presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Aminu Tambuwal, says Dr Godwin Emiefele’s continuous stay in office as the CBN governor after identifying with a political party was dangerous for the Nigerian economy.

The aspirant stated this while playing host with Taraba PDP delegates in Jalingo.

He noted that CBN was the Heart of Nigeria’s economy and needed one that is not partisan as the governor.

He called on President Muhammadu Buhari to do well for Nigeria by asking the CBN governor to resign his position to protect the nation’s economy immediately.

Mr Tambuwal also sought the Taraba State PDP delegates to choose him as the party’s presidential candidate in the forthcoming primaries.

“The PDP is the only party that can rescue Nigeria, and I want the party to present Nigeria with a candidate that would appeal to the people’s minds.

“The problem of this country is the leaders’ mindfulness of tribalism and sectionalism.

“I do not believe in tribal or religious sentiments, growth is my desire, and I would ensure fairness to bring Nigerians together.

Also, the long delay in the execution of the Mambila hydropower project is negligent for the economy of Nigeria,” Tambuwal expressed.

While commenting, Governor Darius Ishaku said Nigeria needs a leader that would take decisions on the issues hampering the country’s development.

Ishaku advised the PDP to stand up to change the narrative by choosing a leader who desires governance that would transform the country for the better.

Earlier, Dr Nicholas Michasa, the DG of the campaign, said that Nigerians were tired and needed one that would liberate them from their current situation.
