The Senate Deputy Chief whip, Onyekachi Nwebonyi has flagged off the the construction of one of the 25.5 kilometer roads in his Senatorial Zone in Ebonyi State.
This is in line with fulfillment of his campaign promises when he was contesting for election during the 2023 general election.
The road will serve the people of the Zone, Ebonyi State and Nigeria in the area of smooth road transportation of goods and services.
Senator Nwebonyi disclosed this to the Journalists immediately after the flag off at Obegu Azuiyokwu Village, Abakaliki Local Government Area of the State.
“I am doing all these to fulfill my campaign promises to my Constituents. I started with 7.5 kilometer roads, then another 9.5 and now 8.5, if you calculate it, you will see that it over 25 kilometer of roads, that is what your Senator has attracted in one year, that will tell you what will happen if I last longer. Just for the People Of Ebonyi North Senatorial Zone.
“The road is going to be concrete based with enough stone base and it’s going to be as smooth as asphalt road. This will tell you that your senator came prepared, not like those who grabbed power without performance,” Nwebonyi said.
People Oriented Programmes
The Senate Deputy Chief whip said he prioritised the people of the zone, that was why he based his programs on people “when people are happy the society will be peaceful and calm,” he stated.By Moses Nwite, Abakaliki
The Senator also attended the grand finale of the Ebonyi State NUJ Press week where he promised to put in the budget of 2025 a sum of 100 million naira so that they would know that they have a Senator who is a friend to NUJ.
“And so, I will be expecting a letter from the NUJ State Chairman of what 100 million naira can do so that I will put it in the budget because the problems you listed here is not a problem of 1 million naira, nor 5 million naira not even 20 million, that is why it has to enter into the budget of Nigeria Government,” he added.
He also donated one million naira to NUJ during the occasion.
Recall that Senator Nwebonyi had distributed over 10,000 farm inputs to Ebonyi people, built houses to some of his indigent Constituents as well as marathon scholarships to all Nigerian, irrespective of where you are coming from.
Medical Outreach
Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi has also ensured that none of his Constituents is sick without proper medical attention as he has teams that are in charge of that.
