The Committee of Youth on Mobilisation and Sensitisation (CYMS) has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene in the compensation concerns involving WinHomes Global Services Limited and diaspora investors affected by the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Road project.
The Director-General of CYMS, Chief Obinna Mwaka, made the appeal during a press conference in Abuja. He said that despite engagements with the Federal Ministry of Works, led by Minister David Umahi, and other relevant authorities, the matter is yet to be resolved more than 24 months after the reported demolition of properties linked to the project.
Mwaka noted that the delay has raised concerns among stakeholders and called for timely intervention in the interest of sustaining investor confidence and supporting ongoing infrastructure development across the country.
“In the interest of national development and youth empowerment, we appeal to Mr President to ensure that all legitimate concerns relating to compensation are addressed, in line with due process, to further strengthen investor confidence,” he said.
He disclosed that the affected properties are estimated at about $250 million, representing investments by both Nigerians and foreign nationals. According to him, addressing the concerns would reinforce Nigeria’s commitment to protecting investments and promoting economic growth.

He also stated that WinHomes Global Services Limited had obtained all necessary approvals from the Lagos State Government before commencing construction.
In a related development, the Chairman of the Renewed Hope Concern Citizens (RHCC) also appealed to the President to address the issue.
“Mr President has performed well and deserves support. On this note, we appeal to his leadership to look into this matter and intervene,” he said.
The CYMS emphasised that prompt compensation would help restore investor confidence, particularly among foreign stakeholders affected by the demolition, in line with efforts to promote sustainable economic growth and development in Nigeria.
