The People’s Democratic Party PDP has elected a new Chairman, Mr Tochukwu Okorie and other executives of the party to pilot the affairs of the party for the next four.

The Chairman of the electoral panel of the state PDP Congress, Senator Bencolins Obi disclosed this to Journalists while declaring the winner of the election.

Bencolins said the winner emerged having scored the highest votes, which is 1240 votes out of 1510 accredited voters as against the co-contestant Barrister Silas Onu who scored 260 votes.

Meanwhile, Barrister Silas Onu alleged that he is the winner of the election that he should be declared the winner.

“This Congress was full of irregularities emerging from the so-called the elders of the party in the State. I must fight through Court of law to restore the dignity of PDP in Ebonyi State”. Onu said.

Also, one of the major stakeholders of the party in the State, Chief Nwakaego Rosemary Emmanuel, popularly known as Egobekee frowned at the exercise and called for the restoration of Justice in the party.

Egobekee said, “as far as am concerned, no election took place here today, if majority members of the party should be allowed to vote, Silas Onu would have been the winner because he is the choice of the masses but it was hijacked by the few stakeholders not the majority members of the party”. She added.
