Britain’s King Charles III says the United Kingdom and the United States would remain strong allies despite global uncertainty and disagreements over issues such as the Iran conflict.
Speaking to a joint session of the US Congress alongside Queen Camilla, the king stressed the two nations’ shared commitment to democracy, security and international cooperation.
Charles highlighted the importance of continued support for Ukraine, warned against isolationism, and called for stronger protection of nature.

His remarks were seen as indirect references to President Donald Trump’s criticism of NATO and his “America First” policy stance.
At a White House state banquet later, Trump claimed Charles agreed that Iran should never obtain nuclear weapons, although the king avoided commenting publicly on Iran.
Charles also met leading U.S. technology executives, including leaders from Amazon, Apple, Nvidia and Alphabet, during his visit.
The four-day state visit comes amid tensions between Washington and London over the Iran conflict and Trump’s criticism of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
King Charles became only the second British monarch to address the U.S. Congress, after Queen Elizabeth II in 1991.
