The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, says the Ministry is working closely with the Voice of Nigeria to ensure citizens receive accurate and credible information.
Idris made this known in his address at the VON Forum 2026 in Abuja.
He stressed the need for the media “to counter misinformation and the narrative portraying Nigeria as a nation on the verge of collapse.”
The Minister noted that despite existing challenges, the country has continued to confront them decisively to safeguard national stability and democratic progres.
Idris insisted that “Nigeria remains firmly on the path of sustained prosperity rather than decline.”
He called for a collective shift in national discourse towards a more constructive and forward-looking perspective that reinforces unity, development, and shared progress.
