President Tinubu Sets up Result Delivery Unit

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has set up a Result Delivery Unit to measure the performance of Ministers and other top government officials serving in his administration.

 

The President announced the establishment of the unit on Wednesday while declaring open the Cabinet Retreat organised for Ministers, Presidential Aides, Permanent Secretaries and Top Government officials at the Banquet hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

 

President Tinubu stated that all Ministers and aides as well as other Top government officials serving in the present administration would sign a bond of understanding with him to enable the government to measure their performance with key indicators and reference to objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

 

I assure you have a free hand you must be intellectually inquisitive to ask why when and how it must be immediate, you have responsibilities to serve the people. I have taken a young lady, very dynamic, Hadiza Bala Usman to head that delivery unit. If you have any complaints about her see me and if you are ready to work with her stay there, Delivery yes we must achieve it for the sake of the millions of people 

The Nigerian Leader also said that he has appointed his Special Adviser on Policy Coordination, Hadiza Bala Usman to Head the Result Delivery Unit, He urged the Ministers and other key officials to work towards realising the goals of the administration.

 

“At the end of this retreat, we are going to sign a bond of understanding between you the Ministers, the permanent secretaries and myself. If you are performing nothing to fear, if you miss the objective we review, if do perform you leave us. No one is an island, and the buck stops on my desk

 

The President assured the Ministers that he would grant a significant level of autonomy, provided that they demonstrate intellectual curiosity by asking questions about the reasons, methods, and timing of tasks assigned.

 

He further stated that the Ministers need not be afraid but must be ready to perform their duties effectively. However, if they fail to meet their objectives, their performance will be reviewed, and if they perform well, they will continue in their roles.

The President emphasised the idea that no one operates in isolation, and the ultimate responsibility rests with them. Additionally, he emphasised that their primary duty is to serve the interests of the people.

 

The Nigerian President stressed that Nigeria’s population of over 200million people should be made an asset and not a liability, he tasked the government officials to engage the strength of the nation’s population and see the need to focus on the progress of the nation
