UFC 276 Preview: Israel Adesanya Vs Jared Canonnier
Nigerian Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) star Israel Adesanya will defend his Middleweight title against former Heavyweight Jared Canonnier when the pair clash in the main event of UFC 276, on Saturday July 2nd, 2022 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, USA.
Adesanya, nicknamed the Last Stylebender, is the first champion from Africa and Nigeria. He is also undefeated in his weight class. In UFC 276’s headlining event, reigning 185-pound Middleweight champion Adesanya will be relishing the chance to defend his sixth official title against the second-ranked contender Cannonier.
Things were a bit heated up in the UFC 276 pre-fight press conference as middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and challenger Jared Cannonier added a little extra to their handshake.

“Everyone’s saying ‘whats the game plan? How are you going to beat Jared (Cannonier),'” Adesanya said in a press conference.
In his response, the Stylebender — who has a record of 22 wins and one loss in the UFC — said he was going to mess up his opponent.
“I am saying that because I want that,” Adesanya added. “I want people to be like ‘let’s see let’s see’ because i know what i’m doing.”
Adesanya said his approach to the fight will be calculative and patient, while picking Cannonier apart before ultimately knocking or choking him out. The Nigerian aims to prove his doubters wrong after his last two fights went to the judges scorecards.
Cannonier has 15 victories to go along with five defeats coming into the UFC 276 main event against the formidable Israel Adesanya.
