During the meeting, the pontiff addressed national leaders and encouraged dialogue, cooperation and respect for human dignity as key elements for building a peaceful and just society.

Pope Leo XIV also visited cultural leaders at the León XIV Campus of the National University in Malabo, where he spoke about the role of education and culture in shaping society.

He emphasised that universities should be places where truth is sought and where the whole human person is formed.

As part of his pastoral outreach, the Pope later visited the Jean Pierre Olie Psychiatric Hospital. There, he met with staff and patients, offering words of encouragement and prayers for those receiving care.

The Holy Father also prayed at St. Elizabeth Cathedral, greeting members of the Catholic community who gathered to welcome him.

His two-day stay in Equatorial Guinea marks the conclusion of his first African journey as Pope, a visit that has highlighted the importance of Africa in the life of the global Church and emphasised themes of hope, solidarity and human dignity.
