Nigeria’s electoral body, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has concluded the second phase of the nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.

The Commission recorded a total of three million, seven hundred and forty-eight thousand, seven hundred and four completed registrations.

According to the Commission’s week fourteen update, the figure includes over 2.2 million online pre-registrations and about 1.4 million in-person completions across designated centres nationwide, reflecting strong public participation ahead of the 2027 general election.

INEC, however, notes that the figures remain preliminary and subject to further verification.

With the registration phase now concluded, the Commission has shifted focus to the display of the Register of Voters for claims and objections.

The exercise is scheduled to hold nationwide from April 29th to May 5th, 2026.

INEC is urging all registrants to verify their details and report any irregularities, including duplicate entries, deceased persons, and non-citizens.

The Commission reiterates that maintaining a clean and credible voter register is essential to delivering free, fair, and transparent elections.
