The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) has begun moves to strengthen collaboration with the Ministry of Interior to boost foreign investment and enhance revenue generation.

RMAFC Chairman, Mohammed Shehu, led a high-level delegation to a meeting with the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, where both parties discussed revenue mobilisation, migration governance and national development.

Shehu said the visit was aimed at securing the Ministry’s support in attracting more foreign investment and that the Commission is planning an oil and gas summit to draw investors into the upstream and downstream sectors.

He reiterated that the Commission was constitutionally mandated to monitor revenue accruals into the Federation Account, ensure lawful disbursement and review revenue allocation formulas.

The RMAFC boss also commended agencies under the Interior Ministry for their cooperation during inter-agency verification exercises, describing it as critical to transparency and accountability.

In his response, Tunji-Ojo stressed that collaboration among government institutions was essential for national progress, noting that “no institution can succeed in isolation.”

The Minister said the Ministry was leveraging migration management and immigration reforms to drive economic growth, improve ease of doing business and boost investor confidence through digitised processes and simplified visa systems.

Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to deepen cooperation and pursue policies aimed at enhancing revenue generation, attracting investment and supporting national development.
