Stakeholders Advocate Urgent Reforms to Boost Ports Efficiency

Stakeholders in the Nigerian Maritime Sector have advocated urgent reforms on sustaining innovative narrative and build human capital development and overhaul regulatory functions to enhance Ports efficiency in the nation’s seaports.

NLNG Shipping and Marine Services Limited (NSML), and the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), identified strategies to bridge training gaps and streamline port operations to boost efficiency and global competitiveness at the 2025 Annual Conference of the Association of Maritime Journalists of Nigeria (AMJON) held in Lagos Southwest Nigeria.

The Managing Director, NLNG Shipping and Marine Services Limited,(NSML), Mr.Abdulkadir Ahmed in his paper presentation ,titled: “The Evolving Global Maritime Regulatory Environment – The Role of Maritime Training and Capacity Development,” said the maritime sector is now at a critical juncture where “investment in human capital is indispensable.

He warned that new international regulations, from climate mandates to cybersecurity rules and crew welfare standards, require a workforce that is agile, educated, and globally competitive.

Mr. Abdulkadir cited transformative policies like the IMO’s Sulphur Cap, EEXI, and CII as game changers that compel shipowners to adopt cleaner, more efficient technologies.

According to him; “With increased reliance on digital systems onboard, the threat landscape has broadened. It’s no longer enough to train for traditional operations—we must build competence in cyber defence, automation, and sustainable energy use.”

“NSML is investing heavily in maritime training through its Maritime Centre of Excellence (MCOE) in Bonny, Rivers State, where over 200 cadets have already been trained with many absorbed into NSML’s operations. The centre, he said, delivers UK-accredited, STCW 2010-compliant programmes with one of Africa’s most advanced maritime simulation systems for bridge operations, crisis response, and cargo handling.”

Abdulkadir said NSML’s contributions include fleet renewal with dual-fuel vessels, investment in LPG carriers, support for the Deep Blue security project, and strategic collaborations with NIMASA and global bodies to advance maritime sustainability and compliance.

He noted that, while NSML tackles the human capital challenge, the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) is moving to fix fragmented port governance through a Standard Regulatory Framework that prioritises transparency, efficiency, and stakeholder inclusiveness.

Delivering his paper titled :”Ensuring standard Regulatory Framework: what strategies and Options?” Executive Secretary, Nigerian Shippers’ Council, NSC, Dr Pius Akutah decried Nigeria’s 130th place out of 139 countries in the 2023 World Bank Logistics Performance Index.

Akutah while quoting UNCTAD stated: “A standard regulatory framework is not just a technical necessity it is an economic imperative, Where regulation is smart and efficient, trade flows. Where it is not, trade chokes.”

The Shippers Council boss who was represented by the Deputy Director,Ibrahim Mohammed noted that 49 per cent of port delays stem from overlapping inspections by more than eight federal agencies operating within the ports, leading to high logistics costs and reduced investor confidence.

While speaking on the need to address impediments on port efficiency, the NSC helmsman proposed: legislative reform via the Nigerian Ports Economic Regulatory Authority (NPERA) Bill to clarify mandates and enhance NSC’s enforcement powers ;

Others included; digital integration through a Port Community System (PCS) linking all port users; codified and transparent regulations, updated tariffs and sanctions; performance monitoring using monthly KPIs such as turnaround time and dwell time; creation of a Maritime Economic Tribunal for fast dispute resolution within a 21-day target; and stakeholder engagement, including Quarterly Regulatory Roundtables to ensure inclusivity in policymaking.

He added that similar reforms in countries like Ghana and Singapore have shown tangible results, including 60 per cent reduction in clearance time and 34 per cent increase in revenue through digital harmonisation and agency integration.

Stakeholders Develop Plan To Sustain Nutrition Campaign In Kaduna

0

Alive and Thrive, a global nutrition initiative, has mobilised key stakeholders to develop a sustainable plan to support the Stakeholders Develop Plan To Sustain Nutrition Campaign In Kaduna, Infant and Young Child Nutrition (MIYCN) campaign and boost the uptake of Multiple Micronutrient Supplements (MMS) in Kaduna State.

The stakeholders, including Nutrition Focal Persons (NFPs), Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officers, and Health Management Information System (HMIS) Officers, were drawn from all 23 local government areas of the state.

They convened to brainstorm and map out strategies to sustain the MIYCN campaign and scale up the distribution and use of MMS in the ongoing fight against malnutrition.

This is to also ensure sustainability as Alive and Thrive rounds up it implementation by August 31st.

Speaking at the workshop on Friday in Kaduna, the Executive Secretary of the State Primary Health Care Board (KSPHCB), Dr Bello Jamoh, said a sustainable plan needed to be built based on local resources.

Jamoh, represented by the board’s Director of Disease Control and Immunisation, Hamza Ikara, said it was the right time to plan well, saying that poor planning often leads to failure.

He stated that cooperation with the teams was crucial to developing a good plan accepted by the government, partners and the communities.

The goal, Jamoh said, was to ensure better health service delivery across the local governments and communities.

He emphasised the need for cost-effective solutions, urging each LGA to identify and document what it produces within its locality.

“This information should be sent to the State Nutrition Officer, which will be compiled and presented to the state council,” he said.

Earlier, the State Nutrition Officer (SNO), Ramatu Haruna, said that the workshop’s purpose was to discuss and document a plausible sustainability strategy.

This was to maintain the gains made through the MIYCN and MMS interventions beyond the Alive & Thrive project’s lifespan.

She stressed that the objectives of the stakeholders meeting include sharing experiences, successes, and challenges.

This was with the view to informing future planning and decision-making as well as securing commitment and support from the stakeholders to maintain the project’s gains.

Musa emphasised that everyone had experiences to share, adding,” by discussing successes and challenges, they can plan better for the future.”

She added that progress often comes with challenges, and addressing these challenges can help improve future outcomes.

Musa said, “The ultimate goal is to ensure that the gains made through the Alive and Thrive project are sustained and not lost.”

In her remarks, Coordinator of Alive and Thrive in Kaduna, Mrs Sarah Kwasu, said that as part of the organisation’s mandate, they promote MMS and enhance MIYCN.

She, however, said recently, the focus had shifted towards promoting the uptake of MMS supplements.

Kwasu stressed that Alive and Thrive had developed capacity of community volunteers, NFPs, and the SNO.

She added that this was to achieve the objective, explaining that the ultimate goal was to ensure that every pregnant woman lives healthily and gives birth to a healthy child.

“The organisation has made significant progress, the success is a collaborative effort. Alive and Thrive’s role has been to support.

“Now the aim is to develop a sustainability plan for each local government and a consolidated plan for the state.

“This plan will enable the stakeholders to continue implementing the interventions without external support.

“The current phase of the project is set to end on August 31st, and Alive and Thrive wants to ensure that the stakeholders can sustain the interventions on their own,” Kwasu said.

She believed that local ownership and continuous support from the state and local governments were crucial for the sustainability of the MMS intervention.

She, therefore, said the main objective was to ensure that the positive outcomes and impact of the Alive and Thrive-led MIYCN and MMS initiative were sustained beyond the initial funding period.

Kwasu explained that the sustainability plan aimed to maintain project results, secure commitment, funding, and build local programme ownership.

She added,”The plan will focus on critical elements such as advocacy, interpersonal communication, community mobilisation, social and behavioral change, and monitoring and evaluation.

“It will leverage existing service delivery and community platforms, and implementation will be based on available and relevant policies.”

A participant, Nafisa Yusuf, the NFP of Makarfi LGA, said she would leverage support from the LGA Chairman and engage community volunteers already working in the area to sustain the project without Alive & Thrive support.

“We have also been trained by Alive and Thrive on various initiatives, and we aim to build on that by training more health workers.

“Our goal is to continue and scale up these efforts to eradicate malnutrition in our LGA and contribute to the state’s overall goal.

“We plan to expand the initiative to facilities that haven’t been trained yet, engage more community volunteers, and provide materials to encourage the remaining facilities to deliver their services.

“By doing so, we hope to make a lasting impact and improve nutrition outcomes in our community,”she said.

Similarly, the HMIS Officer of Kachia LGA, Blessing Amodu, said she would step down the knowledge to health workers and other program officers in her LGA.

This, she said, was to ensure that the activities they have been implementing were sustained even after Alive and Thrive exits.

Also, the M&E Officer of Igabi LGA, Shehu Umar, said data plays a critical role in the health sector, particularly in planning and decision-making.

To ensure the sustainability of programmes like the MMS initiative, Umar said, frontline health workers and nutrition officers must be trained to properly document data.

According to him, proper documentation would not only guide decision-making but also improve the quality of services in LGAs and the overall health sector.

“To achieve this, we plan to conduct supportive supervision to ensure that service providers are up-to-date and using the right tools for documentation.

“This will help maintain the quality of data and ultimately drive better health outcomes,” he added.

Malawi Applauds China’s Support to Health Sector

0

Malawian Minister of Health, Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda has commended the Chinese government for its continued support to the country’s health sector through successive Chinese medical teams since the two countries established bilateral ties.

Chiponda made the remarks during a special ceremony organized by the Chinese Embassy in Malawi to bid farewell to the 11th Chinese Medical Team and to welcome the 12th batch.

The minister said that, “The program has over the years, filled the gaps that existed in the country’s health system, making provision of critical treatment and health care accessible.”

The Chinese medical teams comprise personnel in various clinical specialties, including internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, radiology, anesthesiology and laboratory, according to Chiponda.

She said that since 2008, the 11 teams dispatched to Malawi have collectively performed 33,628 surgeries, and treated nearly 140,000 out-patient cases and nearly 170,000 in-patient cases.

“In addition, China donated a large quantity of urgently needed medical equipment, including patient monitors and portable color doppler ultrasound diagnostic instruments to Kamuzu and Mzuzu central hospitals,” the minister added.

She said the collaboration with China offers an opportunity for improved skills and knowledge for the highlighted areas of health professional expertise.

Chinese Ambassador to Malawi, Lu Xu presided over the event, saying that the services of the Chinese medical teams to Malawi are a golden billboard of China’s external aid operations while also pledging continued support to the Malawian health sector.

“At this critical moment when Malawi’s public health sector suffers from suspension of financial support of its traditional aid parties, China does not turn away but remains where it has been by sticking to its commitment to the people of Malawi,” Lu said.

She also announced that China and Malawi will launch a new project called Minimally Invasive Medical Cooperation to promote advanced technologies in Malawi, so that patients can enjoy more accurate, safe and efficient diagnosis and treatment.

Trump Sues Murdoch, Wall Street Journal For $10bn

0

Donald Trump has filed a $10bn (£7.5bn) lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal’s parent company Dow Jones and its owner Rupert Murdoch over claims that he wrote a “bawdy” note to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The US president claims the publication slandered him and violated libel laws in an article alleging that a birthday greeting bearing Trump’s name was sent to the late financier in 2003, before he was charged with sex crimes.

Trump said the note, which the paper reported he had sent for Epstein’s 50th birthday, is “fake”.

It came as the US justice department asked a judge to unseal material related to Epstein, following intense criticism of the Trump administration’s handling of the case.

Trump said on social media: “We have just filed a powerhouse Lawsuit against everyone involved in publishing the false, malicious, defamatory, fake news ‘article’ in the useless ‘rag’ that is, The Wall Street Journal.

“I hope Rupert and his ‘friends’ are looking forward to the many hours of depositions and testimonies they will have to provide in this case.”

He said the newspaper and Murdoch – with whom Trump has had an up-and-down relationship for decades – were warned they would be sued if they printed the article.

A Dow Jones spokesperson said in a statement to the BBC: “We have full confidence in the rigor and accuracy of our reporting, and will vigorously defend against any lawsuit.”

Murdoch, who was seen on Sunday attending the Fifa Club World Cup with Trump, founded a media empire which is credited by some with helping propel the president to the White House.

According to the Wall Street Journal, a letter bearing Trump’s name “contained several lines of typewritten text framed by the outline of a naked woman, which appears to be hand-drawn with a heavy marker”.

“Inside the outline of the naked woman was a typewritten note styled as an imaginary conversation between Trump and Epstein, written in the third person,” the paper reported.

It reportedly contained a joking reference that “enigmas never age” and allegedly ended with the words: “A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday – and may every day be another wonderful secret.”

Trump denied writing the note after the article was published on Thursday, posting: “These are not my words, not the way I talk. Also, I don’t draw pictures.”

On Thursday, Trump ordered Attorney General Pam Bondi to seek the release of documents related to Epstein’s secretive grand jury testimony.

Brazil Police Raid Ex-President Bolsonaro’s Home

0

Police in Brazil raided the home and political headquarters of Jair Bolsonaro early Friday, searching the properties and ordering the former president to wear an electronic ankle tag.

The right-winger and ally of US President Donald Trump was also barred from speaking to foreign officials or approaching embassies, and banned from social media, under orders of Brazil’s Supreme Court.

The restrictions were motivated by concerns that Bolsonaro would flee the country, amid his trial over an alleged plot to overturn the results of the 2022 presidential election, which he lost to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Bolsonaro has denied wrongdoing.

Speaking outside the police station Friday, Bolsonaro called the ankle tag a “supreme humiliation” and said that he “never thought of leaving Brazil.”

“The suspicions (of me leaving the country) are an exaggeration… damn it, I’m a former president of the republic – I’m 70 years old,” he said.

Bolsonaro added that police seized “about 14,000 US dollars” and claimed the money was for personal use, adding he had the receipts to prove it.

Hours after the ruling, the US State Department announced visa restrictions against Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes and an unspecified number of other court officials, accusing them of carrying out a “political witch hunt” against Bolsonaro.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in a statement said he had “ordered visa revocations for Moraes and his allies on the court, as well as their immediate family members effective immediately.”

Moraes made headlines last year when he banned social media platform X, during a feud with its billionaire owner – and former Trump ally – Elon Musk, over hate speech moderation and the company’s failure to name a legal representative in the country, as required by law. The platform has since been restored in the nation of 220 million people.

Friday’s raid came after Trump tried to force Lula to end the criminal trial against Bolsonaro, by threatening crippling tariffs on the country. Trump linked the tariff threat to what he described as a “witch hunt” trial against Bolsonaro.

About a week later, the US launched an investigation into “unfair” trading practices by Brazil, according to a statement by the United States Trade Representative.

Brazil’s Supreme Court on Friday accused Bolsonaro and his son Eduardo of working with the US to impose the tariffs. CNN has reached out to the US State Department for comment on this allegation.

The court documents highlighted a confidential meeting Bolsonaro had with a US State Department official, and highlighted Trump’s letter as an “offensive” and “clear threat” to Brazilian sovereignty.

In an interview with Reuters on Friday, Bolsonaro denied that anyone lobbied the US to sanction Brazilian authorities working on his case.

Kwara State Governor Rewards 2024 National Festival Medalists

The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Friday hosted the athletes who represented the state at the 2024 National Sports Festival, rewarding them with cash gifts and certificate of recognition.

The gold medalists got N1m each, while the silver and bronze medalists got N500,000 and N300,000 apiece as a symbolic appreciation of their efforts. The coaching crew also got cash rewards.

Kwara won six gold, 11 silver, and 12 bronze at the sports festival, which was held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

At the reception held at the state banquet hall in Ilorin, the Kwara capital, Governor AbdulRazaq also announced immediate settlement of a backlog of N201m sign-on fee for Kwara United coaches and players — a debt that dates back some 16 years ago.

For us, these athletes are our heroes and heroines in their own right. With six gold, 11 silver, and 12 bronze medals, these athletes have made us proud, and we are proud of their efforts, exploits, and, above all, patriotism,” he said.

We have organised this to acknowledge, celebrate, and reassure these athletes and future champions that the state and its people appreciate them and will continue to honour their commitments to our state.

“Nothing can compensate for your efforts, but history will remember how you deployed your talents and energy to bring honour to our state. Thank you.”

AbdulRazaq said history bears witness that his administration has done a lot to reposition Kwara State in all spheres, highlighting some of the sporting facilities that now wear a new look.

He called his government’s investments in sports a strategic purpose to make Kwara the number one hub for raising talents and deploying the same for national development and shared prosperity.

Within the last six years, we have upgraded several of our sporting facilities and built new ones, including the indoor sports hall, table tennis area, Olympic size swimming pool, and eight-winged squash courts. Some of these facilities are unique to Kwara State in Nigeria and on the African continent,” he added.

We have also tried to put our teams in top shape. These efforts are paying off already as the recent historic victory of the Kwara United Football Club shows. Beyond the unprecedented infrastructure upgrade, we have also doubled down on the welfare of athletes and officials.

“Today, I’m glad to announce the full payment of the outstanding N201m sign-on fee for Kwara United coaches and players, which dates back to 16 years ago. This again underscores our commitment to the welfare of all, including our athletes and coaches.”

The event was attended by top government officials, including the Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission Coach Bola Magaji; Chairman Ilorin West Local Government Football Council, Owolabi Agbaji Wopa; Director of Sports, Ibrahim Wopa; Chairman of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ismail Ayodeji; Olympiad and former Commissioner of Sports in the state, Hameed Adio.

Magaji, for his part, said the achievements could not have been possible without the support of the Governor.

Because you believe in us, you assisted us to build our facilities with the renovation of some, while others were constructed anew.

That is not enough. Before, a lot of our athletes have been rotten at home, but now there is hardly a month that an association (in sports) is not being represented within and outside Nigeria,” he said.

Adio lauded Governor AbdulRazaq’s commitment to developing the sports and educational sectors, saying such attests to the Governor’s belief that “when you combine sports and education, you will become a superstar”.

Ayodeji commended Governor AbdulRazaq’s numerous support that he said culminated in the different success stories for the state, particularly at the last sport festival.

According to him, the efforts of the Governor on the Kwara United will be further amplified if the team plays all their (African Confederation Cup) home matches at the Ilorin Stadium, noting that will boost their morale and support the local economy.

NDDC Reaffirms Commitment To Holistic Development In Niger Delta Region

Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has reaffirmed commitment of the Commission to the holistic development of the Niger Delta region in Nigeria.

The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Dr Samuel Ogbuku, stated this when he hosted a delegation from the Isoko Ethnic Nationality, led by the President General of Isoko Development Union, Professor Chris Akpotu, at the NDDC headquarters in Port Harcourt.

Mr Ogbuku said that the Commission was open to all ethnic nationalities in the Niger Delta region, noting that its mandate was to serve the people and ensure the sustainable development of all communities in the area.

Ogbuku remarked, “We all face the same challenges. Therefore, we must all work together to address our challenges, regardless of our ethnicity. These challenges, like underdevelopment and ecological problems, bring us all together.”

“We are all united by a common factor: the challenges we face. We must maintain this identity. We should leverage our bond, as standing alone may not be as strong as our collective strength.”

“The Isoko and Ijaw people are essentially one people because we share a common lineage and we inter-marry. Our ancestral origins connect us, and we must recognise ourselves as one to achieve better development together.”

He noted that the current NDDC Board and Management were committed to rewriting the Commission’s narrative through transparency, equity, and purposeful leadership, also said that under the directives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and within the framework of the Renewed Hope Agenda, the Commission was focused on transforming ideas into visible achievements.

He stated: “When we speak of the Renewed Hope Agenda, it is not just a slogan, it is a social contract between Mr. President and the Niger Delta people. It’s about translating vision into action. But we cannot afford to lose time. That is why we must all work together.”.

Ogbuku charged the Isoko delegation to continue to support the NDDC in its efforts to develop the region, advising them to avoid casting aspersions on the Commission, which he said was the only agency with visible projects in many Niger Delta communities.

Responding to concerns raised by the Isoko delegation, Ogbuku noted that the NDDC was reviewing the electrification project being executed by the Commission in the area.

“Although this administration did not award the project, we are investigating the variations and challenges involved so the contractor can return to the site,” he said.

He also addressed the state of the Uzere-Patani Road, parts of which were damaged by flooding and erosion.

“Plans are already underway to re-award the contract, and we will ensure the road is rehabilitated,”  he said.

On broader development efforts, Ogbuku pointed out that projects across Isoko land were planned and deliberate. “We are replicating the training centre model we successfully executed in Bayelsa in Ozoro and Patani.

Earlier in his remarks, the President General of the Isoko Development Union, Professor Chris Akpotu, congratulated the NDDC boss on the successful celebration of NDDC’s 25th anniversary and applauded the Commission’s transformation under his leadership.

“Under your leadership, the NDDC has moved from a transactional agency to a transformational one, despite the challenges of funding from IOCs. You have kept your word on inclusivity, and that is why we are here to thank you and to ask for more developmental projects in Isoko land,” Akpotu said.

He added: “We are confident that under your stewardship, the NDDC will continue to serve the entire Niger Delta with integrity and justice. It is our prayer that you continue to lead the Commission so that we can continue to enjoy the dividends of development.”

Standardised Website Design to Boost Citizen Engagement, Trust –Minister

0

The Nigerian government is launching a new, uniform website design project as part of a major digital transformation initiative to increase citizen trust and interaction. ‎

‎READ ALSO: 5G Deployment: Communications Minister cautions against Nigeria’s disunity

The Minister for Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani, disclosed this at a two-day workshop on the co-creation of the Nigeria Web Design Standards (NWDS) Project for Public Institutions.

‎The workshop was organised by the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy and the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), and funded by the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation.

‎This initiative is all about creating a unified, user-friendly, and accessible online experience for all Nigerian government websites. The workshop brought together digital experts, designers, and public sector leaders to co-develop clear, user-friendly standards for government websites.

‎Dr Tijani underscored the importance of technology in bridging the trust deficit between government and citizens. He noted that standardised, technology-enabled channels can improve service delivery and increase trust.

‎”We all know that there’s a strong challenge of trust deficit globally, and that trust is tied to one major thing: the desire by people for their government to serve them better,” he stated.

“That’s the main reason. But what we’ve seen over the years is that there’s a strong platform and pathway to being able to serve people better, and that’s technology.”

‎”So when we talk about technology, many people don’t actually understand its depth and importance.”

‎”Technology is the pathway for raising the level of productivity… It’s not just a tool that is good to have. It’s a tool that is the pathway for serving people better.”

‎Speaking on the critical importance of this initiative, he stressed that the effort extends beyond mere aesthetics. “It’s not just about websites; it’s the entire way in which we use technology,” Dr Tijani stated.

‎He pointed to global examples, noting, “If you doubt whether this is important or not, look at some of the best countries in the world where the level of trust between the government and the people is extremely high.”

‎The Minister highlighted a clear correlation between advanced technological integration in public services and strong citizen trust. “These are countries where the government has figured out that to be able to serve their people in every corner of their nation, technology is the only pathway,” he added.

‎Speaking on the importance of this digital transformation, , Director-General of NITDA, Mr Kashifu Inuwa

‎emphasised the necessity for the government to meet its citizens where they are online.

‎”Our citizens are online. Therefore, the government needs to meet the citizens online,” he remarked.

“The only way the government can meet citizens online is by providing this kind of channel, the web app channel, so that people can interact with the government.”

‎He further elaborated on the vision behind the initiative, highlighting the goal of fostering greater citizen engagement.

‎”We are undertaking this initiative to redesign and develop a standard for government websites so that we can provide a unique, engaging, and memorable experience for our citizens when they access government services,”NITDA Boss explained.

‎Mr. Inuwa stressed that this standardisation is crucial for sustained interaction. “That’s the only way that we can get their attention, and we get them to come back to consume those services. So without this standard, it will be difficult for us to achieve that.”

‎Aig-Imoukhuede, Chairman of the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation, echoed these sentiments, underscoring his organisation’s long-standing commitment to public sector reform.

‎”My Foundation, the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation, has been working as a reform partner to Nigeria’s public sector for almost 10 years, and I can tell you authoritatively that the internet and digital technology can potentially transform the value that public sector stakeholders, both internal and external, receive from the government,” he remarked.

‎He highlighted the foundation’s consistent efforts to enhance government-citizen interaction. “Over the years, we’ve worked closely with the public service to improve service delivery, and central to that is how the government engages with citizens,” he said.

‎Mr Aig-Imoukhuede concluded by affirming the Foundation’s support for the initiative, recognising its transformative potential: “This initiative that we are engaged in today will therefore redefine how the government shows up in the lives of Nigerians going forward. That is why we at the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation are supporting this effort.”

The Director of Programmes at the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation, Chioma Njoku, said, “Our aim is to change the narrative about public service delivery. That’s why we have done research on the gap between Nigeria and Western countries, and we intend to close that gap.”

‎”When it comes to making policies that will drive change, we make sure that all stakeholders are involved: government, private sector, youth, public servants, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), and all development partners.”

This collaborative effort marks a pivotal step towards more digitally inclusive and responsive governance in Nigeria, promising enhanced service delivery and improved citizen satisfaction through standardised and user-friendly online platforms.
