Nigeria is set to host the World Investment Summit Abuja 2026, scheduled to take place from June 24 to 26.

The landmark global economic gathering is expected to position the country as a prime destination for international capital and strategic partnerships.

The summit aims to attract up to $5 trillion in foreign direct investment (FDI) to drive economic transformation and strengthen global partnerships. It is expected to convene over 8,000 stakeholders, including government officials, investors, and policymakers from across the world.

Scheduled to be held in Abuja, the summit will bring together world leaders, top government officials, global investors, and business executives to explore opportunities across key sectors of the Nigerian economy. With a focus on unlocking capital, accelerating development, and promoting shared prosperity. The event is designed to foster collaboration between the public and private sectors.

High-level Platform for Policy Dialogue

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the summit, the Convener-General, Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, stated that the event will serve as a high-level platform for policy dialogue, investment promotion, and deal-making. He added that participation is expected from dozens of heads of state, ministers, and thousands of delegates worldwide.

He noted that the gathering will feature panel discussions, investment showcases, and bilateral meetings aimed at strengthening economic ties and boosting foreign direct investment in Nigeria.

According to him, the Federal Government views the summit as a strategic initiative to boost infrastructure development, enhance industrial growth, and deepen reforms that improve the ease of doing business.

Critical sectors such as energy, agriculture, technology, manufacturing, and transportation are expected to take centre stage during deliberations.

A financial recruitment specialist at the University of New Orleans, Dr. Sterling, said the summit would significantly impact Nigeria’s economic trajectory by opening new investment channels, creating jobs, and strengthening the country’s global competitiveness.

Similarly, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Diplomatic Village, Uche Odozor, described the summit as a platform to promote Nigeria’s investment opportunities to the global community.

As preparations intensify, stakeholders across government and industry have expressed optimism that the World Investment Summit Abuja 2026 will mark a turning point in Nigeria’s pursuit of sustainable economic growth and increased foreign investment inflows.
