Nigeria to make Kano ICT hub of the Northwest

The Nigerian Government says  it will set up a state-of-the-art Data and ICT Centres in Kano, Northwest Nigeria, in line with the blueprint of the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy of the Nigerian Government.

Minister of Communication and Digital Economy in Nigeria, Isa Pantami disclosed this when the Governor of Kano State, Umar Ganduje paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja, Nigeria’s Capital.

“I therefore urged the Kano  state government to embrace digital agriculture which is cost-effective and will enhance efficiency and productivity,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Kano State, Umar Ganduje attributed the growth of the Information Technology Communications in Nigeria to the visionary leadership style of Dr. Isa Pantami.

The Governor solicited collaboration between his state and the Ministry in the areas of capacity development, digital literacy, digital skills, E’-Governance, digital infrastructure and others.

“I commend President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing you to lead the  Communications and Digital Economy sector of this country,” the Governor stated.

He also described the performance of Dr. Pantami as outstanding, which has moved the Ministry to the Next level.
