Senator Bala Na’Allah, representing Kebbi South says he has accepted his son’s death as God’s will, explaining that, he spoke with the late Captain Abdulkareem a few hours before the news of his death.
He stated when he received a delegation led by the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kaduna Correspondent Chapel’s Chairman, Hajiya Asmau Halilu in Kaduna.
The Senator who described Abdulkarim as one of his closest sons however noted that God has reasons to permit whatever He wishes, saying, “As Muslims, we must accept that whatever God does is the correct”.
“If you really want to have peace in your life, then you must completely surrender to the will of God. I am happy that we have to a large extent succeeded in doing so, me and his mother will remain steadfast in our believe in the will of God”, he stressed.
The Lawmaker, who is also the Senate Committee Chairman on Air Force disclosed that the discussion he had with his late son was largely on the disturbing security situation across the country.
It can be recalled that Captain Abdulkareem, a civilian pilot was strangled and found dead inside his bedroom in his Malali resident in Kaduna.
Reports indicated that it was a neighbour’s security guard that found the gate of the deceased pilot strangely opened, hence, he raised alarm which led to the discovery of the remains in the bedroom.
Reports say the killers gained entrance into the house through the ceiling.
According to the lawmaker, 8 hours before the murder of his 36-year-old son, he had discussions with him over the security situation in the country, noting that, “little did he know that he had less than 8 hours to live”.
He also cautioned Nigerians against politicizing the security challenges bedeviling the country at the moment, while admonishing politicians to close ranks irrespective of political parties in order to tackle the security challenges headlong.
“I have consistently talked about insecurity in this country. But I think, I will go a bit further now to tell you where the problem is. This insecurity issue didn’t just come in a day and it is good we understand this because if we don’t understand it, we will continue to prescribe a medicine that will not cure it”.
“So, courtesy demands that we took a break, advice ourselves and look clearly at the issues? How they come about? But if we continue to say, it’s All Progressives Congress, or Peoples Democratic Party or the All Progressive Grand Allliance, then we are going to end up having the same situation repeating itself. May Allah not take us to that level.”
Earlier, the Correspondent Chairman had in her condolence message, prayed that God exposes the killers of the late pilot.
She said, “The leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna Correspondent Chapel, wishes to extend our sincere condolences to your family over the loss of your beloved son, Captain Abdulkareem Ibn Na’Allah who was killed in his Malali resident, Kaduna.
We pray Allah to grant your family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss”.
“The evildoers who are responsible for Abdulkareem’s death, we pray Allah exposes them so they can face the full wrath of the law”.
She also commended his maturity, statesmanship and submission to the will of destiny in his reaction to the incident. “Not all humans who find themselves in this condition have this wisdom.”
