Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima has commissioned the newly constructed Governor’s Office Complex delivered by Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, as part of ongoing efforts to modernise governance infrastructure in the state.

The project forms part of Governor Zulum’s broader initiative aimed at creating a more conducive working environment for staff at the seat of power while enhancing administrative efficiency and service delivery.

Briefing the Vice President shortly before the inauguration, Governor Zulum noted that the existing complex had served the state for more than three decades and required urgent modernisation.

“The existing Governor’s Office Complex was constructed over three decades ago and required urgent modernisation to improve working conditions and enhance service delivery at the Government House,” he stated.

In his remarks, Vice President Shettima commended the governor for investing heavily in governance infrastructure, describing the project as a significant step toward strengthening public service delivery.

“This project reflects a clear commitment to improving the Executive arm of government by providing an enabling environment for effective service delivery,” the Vice President said.

Other projects inaugurated by the Vice President include the Presidential Lodge Annex, a new lodge annex, the Government House Clinic, and additional supporting facilities within the Government House.

Delivering the first Juma’at sermon shortly after the inauguration, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious Affairs, Sheikh Muhammad Mustapha, highlighted the spiritual importance of Friday prayers, urging Muslims to reflect, repent, and embrace righteous conduct.

“Juma’ah offers an opportunity for reflection, repentance, and a return to righteous conduct,” he said, while also urging Muslims to shun sinful acts and seek divine intervention to address the prevailing security challenges in the state.
