Dabiri-Erewa Mourns US-Based Nigerian Physician

The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden death of US-based Nigerian physician, Dr. Uzoma Nwaubani, who passed away while on a medical mission in Abia State, in South East Nigeria.

In a statement issued by the Commission’s Director of Media, Public Relations and Protocols, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Dabiri-Erewa described the late doctor’s death as a profound loss to her family, the medical community, and the nation at large.

She noted that Dr. Nwaubani was a committed and passionate member of the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas, consistently demonstrating a strong desire to give back to Nigeria through medical outreach programmes.

According to the statement, Dr. Nwaubani had travelled to Abia State as part of a medical mission organised by ANPA aimed at providing healthcare services to underserved communities.

However, during the course of the mission, she reportedly developed a medical emergency, and despite concerted efforts by a team of medical professionals to revive her, she could not be saved.

Dabiri-Erewa extended her heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the late physician, praying that they find the strength to bear the irreplaceable loss.

She also prayed for the peaceful repose of Dr. Nwaubani’s soul, describing her life as one dedicated to service and humanity.
