UEFA Fines Tottenham Hotspur For Fans Racist Behaviour.

Tottenham Hotspur have been fined €30,000 ($35,000) by UEFA following incidents of racist or discriminatory behaviour by their supporters, during a 2–0 UEFA Champions League victory away to Eintracht Frankfurt in January.

In addition to the financial penalty, UEFA imposed a suspended one-match ban on Spurs selling tickets to their supporters for a future away fixture in European competition.

The sanction will only take effect if a similar offence occurs within a one-year probationary period. European football’s governing body said the disciplinary measures were part of its ongoing efforts to combat racism and discriminatory conduct at matches.

Tottenham are scheduled to face Atlético Madrid later this month in the Champions League round of 16, where the club will hope to avoid further incidents that could trigger the suspended punishment.
