Gombe Governor Appoints Overseers for LGAs, Newly Created LCDAs

The Governor of Gombe State, Muhamadu Inuwa Yahaya, has approved the appointment of senior personnel to oversee the affairs of the LGAs across the state as the tenure of 11 Local Government Executive Council chairmen expired. 

The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, who conveyed the governor’s approval, also announced the appointment of officials to manage the affairs of the 13 newly created Local Council Development Areas, LCDAs.

According to the SSG, all appointees were drawn from among serving secretaries and individuals within their respective LGAs.

He said the action was aimed at sustaining governance structures and ensuring continuity in service delivery at the local level.

The appointments take effect from April 24, 2026.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya expects the new LGAs/LCD As overseers to ensure administrative continuity and stability in the state’s local government system during the interim period.
