Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have sustained their offensive against Boko Haram terrorists in Northeast Nigeria.

During a precision night operation along the Gamboru–Dikwa–Marte axis in Borno State, the troops neutralised 10 insurgents and recovered a cache of arms and equipment.

According to a statement by the Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the operation followed an earlier encounter in Katarko where troops neutralised over 50 terrorists.

In the latest engagement, troops of Sector 1 under the 24 Task Force Brigade foiled an attempted infiltration into Gamboru Ngala from the Flatari axis.

“At about 23:50 hours on 25 October 2025, the troops, while manning a pre-established ambush position, sighted and engaged the hostile elements. They delivered heavy and accurate suppressive fire, forcing the insurgents to retreat in disarray,”

At first light, the area was systematically cleared, confirming 10 terrorists neutralised. A thorough search led to the recovery of firearms, ammunition, and equipment – including five AK-47 rifles, a PKT machine gun, locally-made weapons, loaded magazines, motorcycles, bicycles, and assorted personal items,” the statement reads.

The Military High Command commended the troops for their gallantry and professionalism, reaffirming that the success of the ambush underscores the effectiveness of ongoing counter-insurgency operations in the region.

OPHK remains committed to sustaining offensive actions, protecting civilians, and restoring lasting peace to the North East,” the Military High Command said.
