The Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected claims by Governor Chukwuma Soludo that his administration is aligned with the party under a shared “progressive” agenda ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general election.

Governor Soludo, leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has consistently advanced the narrative that “progressives are working together,” citing a cordial relationship with President Bola Tinubu and the APC-led federal government.

However, speaking in Awka during the inauguration of newly elected state party officials, Anambra APC Chairman, Senator Emmanuel Anosike, clarified that while constructive engagement between governments is important, there is no formal political alliance between the two parties in the state.

According to Anosike, effective collaboration in a multiparty system is best demonstrated through inclusive governance and structured political cooperation.

He noted that such frameworks are not currently in place between the APC and APGA in Anambra.

He reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to strengthening democratic participation and building its presence across the state, encouraging stakeholders who share the party’s vision to engage through its established platform.

“We remain focused on deepening our structures, promoting unity among members, and contributing positively to governance at both state and national levels,” Anosike said.

The APC chairman also expressed confidence in the party’s preparedness for the 2027 elections, highlighting ongoing mobilisation efforts and support for the policy direction of the Tinubu administration.

Political observers say the exchange reflects early positioning by major parties in Anambra, as stakeholders emphasise both cooperation in governance and healthy political competition in the lead-up to the next general election.
