Benin Condemns Coordinated Terror Attacks in Mali

Benin has condemned the recent terrorist attacks that struck several cities in Mali, describing the incidents as deeply troubling.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Beninese government said it received news of the coordinated assaults with dismay.

“The Beninese government has learned with dismay of the coordinated terrorist attacks that targeted several cities in Mali on April 25, 2026,” the statement said.

Benin reaffirmed its solidarity with the Malian authorities and people, while calling for continued regional and international efforts to combat terrorism and restore stability across the Sahel.

It expressed solidarity with the people of Mali, as well as with the country’s political, civilian and military authorities.

Malian Defence Minister Sadio Camara was killed in an attack on his residence in the town of Kati, near the capital Bamako.

We extend our support to the injured and offer our condolences to the families of those who lost their lives,” the Beninese Foreign Ministry’s statement reads.
