The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ACCI, has announced the maiden edition of AGROMEQA EXPO 2026, positioning it as a major platform to boost Nigeria’s agricultural exports, attract investment, and drive mechanisation across the sector.

Announcing the initiative in Abuja, President of the Chamber, Emeka Obegolu, described the Expo as a transformative step towards strengthening Nigeria’s competitiveness in global agro-export markets.

Obegolu, who was represented by the said Second Deputy President, Dr Aliyu Hong, ACCI, said the Expo would serve as a premier continental platform to promote agricultural mechanisation, strengthen export-quality production systems, and attract sustainable investment opportunities across the agribusiness value chain.

“AGROMEQA EXPO 2026 represents a landmark initiative jointly undertaken to reposition Nigeria’s agricultural sector for greater productivity, value addition, and global export competitiveness,” he said.

Dr Obegolu noted that the event would feature exhibitions of advanced agricultural technologies, including mechanised equipment, precision farming tools, irrigation systems, agro-processing innovations, and climate-smart solutions.

“Beyond showcasing innovation, the Expo will serve as a strategic investment marketplace, connecting local producers, agritech developers, and agribusinesses with investors seeking viable projects,” Obegolu stated.

He emphasised that the initiative aligns with Nigeria’s priorities on food security, economic diversification, and export-led growth.

“We are confident that the Expo will catalyse investment inflows, technology-transfer opportunities, and strategic collaborations that will yield sustainable economic value and contribute to long-term sectoral transformation,” he said.

The ACCI President called on government agencies, private sector players, and development partners to actively participate, stressing that collaboration and capital mobilisation remain essential to achieving sustainable agricultural transformation.

“With collective effort, AGROMEQA EXPO 2026 will become a flagship agricultural event in West Africa, setting new benchmarks for innovation, investment facilitation, collaboration, and capacity development within the sector,” Obegolu said.

Scheduled for June 10 to 11, 2026, the event will take place at the Prince Adetokunbo Kayode Trade and Convention Centre in Abuja, under the theme “Technology and Investment for Agro-Export”.
