The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Nigeria, Yousef bin Mohammed Al-Balawi, has reaffirmed commitment to strengthening economic ties with Nigeria following a high-level meeting with Africa’s foremost industrialist and the Chairman of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote.
Dangote was received at the Ambassador’s residence in Abuja, where both parties held extensive discussions on expanding bilateral investment opportunities.
The meeting followed Dangote’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia and focused on deepening collaboration across key sectors, including energy, industry and infrastructure.

“Our discussions reflect the depth of the relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Nigeria, and our shared commitment to strengthening partnerships that will deliver sustainable economic growth,” the Ambassador stated.
He noted that Saudi Arabia remained keen on exploring strategic investment opportunities in Nigeria while also opening its market to credible Nigerian enterprises.
“There are significant opportunities for collaboration, particularly with globally respected institutions such as the Dangote Group. We are committed to fostering an environment where such partnerships can thrive for mutual benefit,” the Envoy added.
For his part, Dangote highlighted the importance of sustained engagement between both nations, noting that his recent visit to Saudi Arabia revealed vast opportunities for expansion and cooperation.
“My visit to the Kingdom provided valuable insights into the scale of opportunities available, not just for the Dangote Group, but for Nigerian businesses as a whole. We see strong potential for collaboration in key sectors, and we are committed to building partnerships that will create value for both economies,” he explained.
The business magnate emphasised that Nigerian companies had much to offer international investors, particularly in manufacturing, energy, and industrial development.
“We believe that collaboration is key to unlocking growth. The Dangote Group is ready to work with Saudi partners to drive innovation, investment, and shared prosperity,” Dangote affirmed.
As part of the visit, Ambassador Al-Balawi hosted a dinner in honour of the industrialist and presented him with a commemorative gift, symbolising strengthening ties between both nations.
The meeting signals a new phase in Saudi–Nigerian relations, marked by increased private-sector engagement and a shared vision for economic diversification and long-term development.
