The Nigerian Federal Capital Territory Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has concluded the first round of vaccination exercise against Covid-19 for its 2021 intending Pilgrims.
In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Mohammad Lawal Aliyu said 90% of those who made deposit to partake in the religious journey to Saudi Arabia through the FCT have successfully taken the first dose of the vaccine in preparation for the Hajj this year.
Aliyu said the exercise which commenced on Friday March 26, 2021 has covered intending Pilgrims from the six Area Councils of the territory and those who registered at the head office of the Board.
He also explained that the Board was impressed with the turnout of the intending Pilgrims to the exercise that lasted for 10 days to comply with the requirements for this year’s Hajj.
The Board image maker advised those who missed the opportunity to seek for the dose at any of the Primary Health Care facility to get vaccinated and forward evidence to the officials of the Board for documentation.
Aliyu reminded the intending pilgrims to note that the inoculation is an obligation that needed to be fulfilled to meet up with travelling requirements to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj.
The PRO assured intending Pilgrims that the Board is working hard to make all necessary arrangements for the religious exercise while waiting for further directives on the 2021 Hajj from relevant authorities.
