The meeting brought together Defence Ministers and senior security officials from Chad, Cameroon, Nigeria and Benin, alongside intelligence chiefs and other operational stakeholders, providing a platform to assess ongoing operations and strengthen coordinated responses to evolving threats.

Deliberations focused on the operational effectiveness of the Multinational Joint Task Force, with Ministers reviewing reports from Chiefs of Defence Staff and heads of intelligence agencies, while also engaging in closed-door discussions on force deployment, funding constraints and the changing threat environment across the basin.
General Musa commended the government and people of Chad for hosting the meeting and acknowledged the countryās leadership within the regional security framework.
The participating Ministers also expressed appreciation to the President of Chad and Chairman of the Lake Chad Basin Commission Summit for continued support towards regional peace and stability.
The engagement reinforces a broader strategic posture among Lake Chad Basin states to move beyond fragmented national responses towards an integrated regional security architecture capable of addressing asymmetric and transnational threats.
