President Bola Tinubu has approved federal road and bridge projects worth about N883 billion for Kwara State, North Central Nigeria.
The approvals followed sustained efforts by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to attract key infrastructure projects to the state.
The largest project is the N276 billion dualisation of the Ilorin–Ogbomoso Road, a major highway linking Kwara and Oyo states.
The project is expected to reduce traffic, cut travel time, improve road safety and boost economic activities along one of the busiest routes in the North Central region.

The President also approved N265 billion for the reconstruction of the Iseyin–Eruwa–Agbesi Road, which passes through Oyo and Kwara states.
In addition, N217 billion was approved for the dualisation of the old road alignment from Ijaye through the Federal Government College to Ilorin, with a spur to Akinmorin.
Another N104 billion was approved for the rehabilitation of Sections 1 and 2 of the Ilorin–Omorin–Egbe–Kabba–Obajana Road, an important federal highway linking Kwara and Kogi states.
The road is a major route for interstate travel and the movement of goods and has been in need of major repairs for many years.
To reduce traffic congestion within Ilorin, the President also approved N21 billion for the construction of a flyover at Oko-Olowo Junction, a busy traffic point in the city.
The project is expected to improve traffic flow and make the junction safer for motorists and other road users.
The approvals represent one of the biggest federal investments in road infrastructure in Kwara State in recent years and reflect the state’s efforts to attract more development projects through collaboration with the Federal Government.
