Gombe Sets September Deadline for 2027 Hajj Payments

Abdullahi Idris, Gombe

The Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has fixed September 2026 as the deadline for intending pilgrims to complete payments for the 2027 Hajj exercise.

The Executive Secretary of the Board,  Sa’adu Hassan, urged all intending pilgrims in the state to complete their payments before the deadline.

He said each intending pilgrim is required to pay a minimum deposit of ₦4 million, in line with the directive of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), warning that payments made after the September deadline would not be accepted.

Alhaji Sa’adu advised prospective pilgrims to make their payments early to avoid last-minute difficulties.

According to him, the Board has received more than ₦2 billion in deposits from intending pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj exercise.

The Executive Secretary also warned intending pilgrims against making payments through unauthorised channels.

He stressed that all payments must be made only through designated local government Hajj offices, approved banks, or the headquarters of the Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.

Alhaji Sa’adu also praised the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), led by Ambassador Ismaila Abba Yusuf, for the successful and smooth conduct of the 2026 Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.
