The Chairman of Nigeria’s Presidential Task Force, PTF on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha has recommended sanctions, punishments including jail terms and fines for violators of the recently signed Executive Order on COVID-19 safety regulations that make wearing of face masks and social distance mandatory across the country.

The PTF Chairman and Secretary to the Government of the Federation stated this at the National Joint Media briefing in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

“All Law enforcement Agencies have been fully briefed and instructed to enforce the law within the appropriate limits, he said.

The PTF, however, noted that it was conscious of the pains and concerns of businesses in the aviation and related sectors, especially around international airports that are yet to reopen.

“We feel your pains and share your fears. The evaluation of the COVID-19 developments is progressing and we are also expediting action on the arrival of vaccines so that we shall further relax the restriction and reopen our vital facilities,  the PTF Chairman noted

Earlier, the PTF met with the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN on sensitization in preparation for the vaccine rollout.
