The Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Engineer Yakubu Danladi Salihu has implored officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force to be proactive and people friendly in the conduct of the business of protection of lives and properties of Nigerians.
He gave the charge at the State House of Assembly complex during the ceremonial decoration of promoted officers of the Police attached to the Assembly.
In a statement issued by his Special Assistant, Media, Ibrahim Sheriff, the speaker congratulated the newly promoted officers.
“We appreciate your hard work and commitment, we are very glad to associate with you,” he added.
Danladi, therefore, implored them to continue to be the touted people’s friend, in the face of the present security challenges in the Country stressing that they must be proactive in protecting lives and properties anywhere they find themselves to justify the confidence reposed in them by the Federal Government.
Fourteen officers of the Nigeria Police Force attached to the Kwara State House of Assembly, including Orderly to the Speaker were promoted to Inspector rank, while two others were promoted to the rank of Sergent.
