Kano state government has planned to construct a 3-layered road Interchange around the NNPC roundabout to ease movement of commuters, especially those coming in from other African countries to do business in the ancient commercial city.

Governor Ganduje made the disclosure during the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected local government chairmen of the 44 local governments in the state.

He said the ultra-modern project would be named after President Muhammadu Buhari for his unflinching support to Kano state.

Support for Kano State by the President
Ganduje said President Buhari has supported Kano state, the second biggest commercial city in Nigeria to thrive through the construction of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway, the western by-pass road, Abuja-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas project among others stressing that the projects have really touched the life of Kano people for good and for better.

“President Buhari must be appreciated for doing all these things for us. Our administration will construct 3-layered road Interchange, with flyovers around NNPC area, we will also name it after our President Muhammadu Buhari, just to appreciate him for such kind good gestures towards the state. He deserves this absolutely”, Ganduje said.

“It is the administration of our amiable President Muhammadu Buhari that brought to us this Abuja-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas project, of which President Buhari had already laid the foundation for laying of pipelines. Just in the last few days he also kick started the gigantic rail road project, which starts from Kano to Katsina to Jibia and finally to Maradi in Niger Republic”, he added.

He said others include the rehabilitation of Kano-Zaria-Kaduna-Abuja highway, Kano- Maiduguri highway, Kano-Katsina highway, that were hitherto abandoned, but President Buhari decided to put fresh life to all the projects, with the political will to accomplish the tasks.

He also commended President Buhari for the ongoing Bypass road project in the state affirming that “when these projects are completed, Kano will not only bounce back as a giant economy, it will also be a commercial nerve centre of neighbouring West African countries just like before”.

Governor Ganduje said President Buhari is fulfilling his electioneering promises of building infrastructures that would improve the economy of the state and the country in general adding that Kano people are very grateful to Mr President.
